Objectives

The project will implement support for the economic development of the Normandy potato sector in the sustainable management of environmental resources. It aims to optimize the performance of production systems by proposing innovative techniques to improve productivity, the sanitary quality of products and meet market needs. It will help limit the impact of production on the environment and anticipate climate change, by developing production methods, practices reducing the use of inputs (fertilizers, phytosanitary products, etc.) and the exploitation of resources ( soil, water…).

Objectives

Le projet mettra en œuvre l’accompagnement du développement économique de la filière pomme de terre de Normandie dans une gestion durable des ressources environnementales. Il vise à en optimiser les performances des systèmes de production en proposant des techniques innovantes pour améliorer la productivité, la qualité sanitaire des produits et satisfaire les besoins du marché. Il contribuera à limiter l’impact de la production sur l’environnement et à anticiper le changement climatique, en développant des modes de production, des pratiques réduisant l’usage des intrants (engrais, produits phytosanitaires…) et l’exploitation des ressources (sol, eau…).

1 Practice Abstracts

In 2018, an Operational Group was set up in the Normandy potato sector, comprising producers, collection and packaging companies, marketers, advisers, group technicians and traders. This sector represents around 15,700 ha in the region, 4,500 ha of plants, 1,270 producers and 450,000 tonnes sold mainly on the fresh market (export, supermarkets, direct sales, etc.) and the food industry. This group led a collective strategic reflection on the structuring and revitalization of the sector, which resulted in the design of an action plan, which will be carried out in this second phase of the project.

En 2018, s’est constitué sur la filière pomme de terre normande un Groupe Opérationnel composé de producteurs, d’entreprises de collecte et de conditionnement, de metteurs en marché, de conseillers, de techniciens de groupement et négociants. Cette filière représente environ 15.700 ha dans la région, 4.500 ha de plants, 1.270 producteurs et 450.000 tonnes écoulées majoritairement sur le marché du frais (export, GMS, vente directe…) et l’industrie alimentaire. Ce groupe a mené une réflexion stratégique collective sur la structuration et la dynamisation de la filière, qui a abouti à la conception d’un plan d’actions, qui sera conduit dans cette seconde phase du projet.
