Activities
Design of a “Fieldlab” for the development of agroforestry, focusing on the contribution and integration of woody crops into farming systems (dairy farming, arable farming). A Fieldlab that innovates and shows the contribution of agroforestry to (i) production/balance (including mitigation at weather extremes), natural pest regulation and animal health and (ii) the provision of climate, water, biodiversity-related (including N-capture) and landscape services, etc. Base is the location in Zeeland (municipality of Maashorst, province of North Brabant) with extensive research and information facilities; area-based connection to North Brabant’s transition declarations (NPLG/BPLG) and more widely applicable to sandy soils in the Netherlands in particular

- Design of a 'fieldlab' for the development of agroforestry, with a focus on the contribution and integration of woody crops in agricultural systems (dairy farming, arable farming).
- A fieldlab in which innovation takes place and in which the contribution of agroforestry to (i) production/balance (incl. risk mitigation in case of weather extremes), natural pest regulation and animal health and (ii) the provision of climate, water, biodiversity (including N-capture) and landscape services etc, is substantiated and made visible.
- Basis is the location in Zeeland (municipality of Maashorst, province of North Brabant) with extensive facilities for research and education; area-specific connection to the transition tasks of North Brabant (NPLG/BPLG) and broader applicability especially for the sandy soils in the Netherlands.
- Letter of recommendation from the representative of the province of North Brabant.
