Guidelines for the certification of the soil improver
This document aims to provide guidelines for the attestation of the legality and traceability of the raw material of woody origin. The methodology presented was developed on the basis of the standard of Chain of Custody Certification (coc) PEFC ITA 1002:2013 according to the requirements of "Res4Carbon", taking into account the procedures of the Due Diligence System of the PEFC standard of coc, necessary to prove the legality of the product and to ensure its traceability throughout the considered chains of compost and fertilizers.
Please note that the verification of the timber through a DDS that meets the requirements of the European Timber Regulation, monitored by a Monitoring Body, such as that reported by the PEFC coc Standard can be used as evidence of the legality of supplies. The above indications predispose the material to a voluntary certification of the PEFC Controlled Sources, to the appropriate use of the terminology related to it and to the possible use of PEFC declarations.
The definition "PEFC Controlled Sources" is intended to avoid the risk of using products from controversial sources, including legal aspects. Buyers and potential buyers can use this information in choosing the product based on legality, as well as other considerations. The objective of communicating the origin of the raw material is to encourage the supply and demand of products from forests whose origin is known and therefore, stimulate the ability to direct the market towards a continuous improvement in the transparency of the management of the world’s forest resources.
Linee guida per la certificazione dell'ammendante
Questo documento ha lo scopo di fornire linee guida per l’attestazione della legalità e tracciabilità della materia prima di origine legnosa. La metodologia presentata è stata sviluppata sulla base dello standard di Certificazione di Catena di Custodia (CoC) PEFC ITA 1002:2013 secondo le esigenze di “Res4Carbon”, prendendo in considerazione le procedure della Due Diligence System dello standard PEFC di CoC, necessarie per provare la legalità del prodotto e assicurarne la tracciabilità lungo tutta le filiere considerate del compost e dei fertilizzanti.
Si ricorda che la verifica del legname attraverso un DDS che rispetta i requisiti dell’European Timber Regulation, monitorato da un Organismo di Monitoraggio, come quella riportata dallo Standard di CoC PEFC può essere usato come evidenza della legalità delle forniture. Le indicazioni riportate predispongono il materiale ad una volontaria certificazione delle Fonti Controllate PEFC, all’uso appropriato della terminologia a questo collegata e all’eventuale uso di dichiarazioni PEFC.
La definizione “Fonti Controllate PEFC” è rivolto ad evitare il rischio di usare prodotti provenienti da fonti controverse, inclusi anche gli aspetti legali. Acquirenti e potenziali acquirenti possono usare queste informazioni nella scelta del prodotto basato sulla legalità, così come altre considerazioni. L'obiettivo di comunicare l'origine della materia prima è quello di incoraggiare la domanda e l'offerta di prodotti provenienti da foreste di cui si conosce l’origine e, quindi, stimolare la capacità di orientare il mercato verso un miglioramento continuo nella trasparenza della gestione delle risorse forestali del mondo.
