Objectives

To study the effectiveness of algal biostimulant ingredients, to change the agricultural practices of this crop towards a lower use of inputs and an increased performance of production. The project will experiment with the addition of biostimulants or adjuvants to commercial fungicide specialties to improve the effect. The project will evaluate the techno-economic performance of the production routes integrating these solutions, routes oriented towards fungal pest management methods with a lower use of pesticides. The use of fungicides on the crop can be significantly reduced compared to current practices.

Objectives

Etudier l’efficacité d’ingrédients biostimulants d’origine algale, faire évoluer les pratiques agricoles de cette culture vers une moindre utilisation d’intrants et une performance accrue de production. Le projet expérimentera l’ajout de biostimulants ou d’adjuvants aux spécialités commerciales fongicides pour en améliorer l’effet. Le projet évaluera les performances technico-économiques des itinéraires de production intégrant ces solutions, itinéraires orientés vers des modes de gestion des bioagresseurs fongiques avec une plus faible utilisation de pesticides. L’usage de fongicides sur la culture pourra être réduit de façon significative par rapport aux pratiques actuelles.

1 Practice Abstracts

This project aims to study the efficacy of algal biostimulant ingredients and the value of using them to limit the use of fungicide inputs in leek crops. Normandy is the leader of the French leek market with 25% of the surface area and the national volume, ie 1,300 ha in cultivation and nearly 40,000 tons produced in 2017. This project aims to change the agricultural practices of this country. culture towards lower input use and increased production performance. The project will experiment with the addition of biostimulants or adjuvants to commercial fungicide specialties to improve the effect. It is an innovative technique for managing leek cultivation, adapting technical itineraries and resorting to natural renewable resources. The project will evaluate the techno-economic performance of the production routes integrating these solutions, routes oriented towards fungal pest management methods with a lower use of pesticides. With this approach, the use of fungicides on the crop can be significantly reduced compared to current practices. For the record, currently used fungicides have pesticide residues that could have potential effects on air quality, surface water and product safety.

Ce projet vise à étude l’efficacité d’ingrédients biostimulants d’origine algale et l’intérêt de leur utilisation pour limiter le recours aux intrants fongicides en culture de poireau. La Normandie est le leader du marché français de la culture du poireau avec 25 % des surfaces et du volume national, soit 1.300 ha en culture et près de 40.000 tonnes produites en 2017. Ce projet a pour objectif de faire évoluer les pratiques agricoles de cette culture vers une moindre utilisation d’intrants et une performance accrue de production. Le projet expérimentera l’ajout de biostimulants ou d’adjuvants aux spécialités commerciales fongicides pour en améliorer l’effet. Il s’agit d’une technique innovante de gestion de culture en poireau, d’adaptation des itinéraires techniques, de recours aux ressources renouvelables d’origine naturelle. Le projet évaluera les performances technico-économiques des itinéraires de production intégrant ces solutions, itinéraires orientés vers des modes de gestion des bioagresseurs fongiques avec une plus faible utilisation de pesticides. Grâce à cette approche, l’usage de fongicides sur la culture pourra être réduit de façon significative par rapport aux pratiques actuelles. Pour mémoire, les fongicides actuellement utilisés présentent des résidus de pesticides qui pourraient avoir des effets potentiels sur la qualité de l’air, des eaux de surface et de la sécurité des produits.
