Living in Biosphere Reserves

Résumé

The project aims at the cooperation of LAGs in Mediterranean countries which intrvention areas have been intergrated in the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves (BR) in the last three years or are about to join and have common environmental and socio-economic characteristics. Specifically, the project aims to strengthen local identity, social cohesion and sustainable entrepreneurship in  BR areas, through the exploitation of their special environmental value as a development advantage. This means highlighting the Mediterranean BR as tools for promoting the productive sustainability of the regions through a Quality Label (Brand) and actions to establish the local brand for the products and services of the region, so that the BR can be translated into added value for local entrepreneurship, especially producers of local agricultural products and tourism professionals. Also the project forseen educational exchanges in BR areas as examples of good practices.
