Rural MediaSmart – Supporting Villages to Identify Real Information and Combat Fake News
Résumé
This project strengthens media literacy in rural communities, helping citizens of all ages youth, seniors, local leaders and stakeholders tell reliable information from misinformation and fake news online. It builds critical thinking and practical skills to resist manipulation and digital risks. The project maps where false content is most common (health, agriculture, environment, climate, local issues, politics, consumer products) and uses the findings to deliver targeted workshops, local trainings and simple tools matched to real village needs. Through study visits and exchanges between LEADER regions, partners will share methods and create local networks that promote verified channels and transparent communication. Outputs include a free, open-access Media Literacy Guide for Rural Communities with checklists, examples and steps to spot and report misinformation across Europe.

Country of Partner
LEADER regions from any European country with active community structures.
