European Horizons: Opening Europe to Rural Residents "EHO" How to engage rural communities in « third paces » or “shared places/multi-activities places”
Résumé
In the rural area around Chinon (Central region of France), a small town with a population of 8,000, opportunities to discover new horizons are limited. The aim of the project is to enable those involved in the BLOC² “third place” (training, social and integration professionals, residents and young volunteers) to exchange with their European peers on how to involve local communities in such shared spaces providing various activities/Services. The aim of this cooperation would be to compare the characteristics and functioning of these “third places”/shared spaces in rural areas (governance, operating methods and involvement of stakeholders, etc.), their specific features, their similarities, and best practices, particularly in relation to ecological transition and integration. This project will enrich and improve the functioning of these types of shared places/third places involving local communities in rural areas.
Type of Partner
We are looking for partnerships with other third places or organizations active in the fields of training, social support, and integration across the European Union, with a preference for countries accessible by train in order to reduce the carbon impact of mobility.
