This survey of CAP Managing Authorities, carried out in spring 2026, gives a snapshot of data, challenges, the role of women and young people, and the role of the CAP for farm diversification across the EU.

This summary presents the findings of an EU CAP Network survey of Managing Authorities across the EU as part of the activities of the Thematic Group on Farm Diversification.
The survey sought to gather information and insights across the following areas:
- Data collection and data availability related to farm diversification
- Main challenges and bottlenecks related to farm diversification
- The role of young people and women in developing new sources of income outside agriculture
- Contribution of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) to supporting farm diversification.
The survey was an opportunity to get a snapshot of farm diversification across the EU, with a particular emphasis on the CAP. It was carried out between March and April 2026, and received 20 responses from 19 Member States (MS).
