Factsheet - Advice clinics help Irish farmers make better use of EU funds for income support

A series of nationwide advisory clinics in Ireland has been organised to help farmers apply for income support from the basic income support for sustainability (BISS) scheme, which is funded by the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). Clinics are an initiative of the Managing Authority (MA).

By offering personalised consultations, these advice clinics ensure that farmers are not only aware of the various EU funding opportunities available, but also equipped with the knowledge on how to apply for them effectively. This individualised support helps to maximise the likelihood of successful applications, ultimately leading to more efficient use of EU funds.

These clinics were supported by MA staff and proved particularly useful for farmers who do not have a farm advisory service-approved advisor to help with EU funding applications.
