- Programming period: 2023-2027
The 6th Steering Group meeting of the EU CAP Network was opened by DG AGRI, which provided updates on recent EU-level policy developments, including the launch of the process towards the ‘Right to Stay Strategy: Your Region, Your Future', the state of play of the discussions on the future Multi-annual Financial Framework (MFF) and the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) post-2028.
Up-to-date information by DG AGRI also concerned progress on the implementation of the Vision for agriculture and food and the Performance framework for the CAP in 2028-2034, with its ‘Green’, ‘Social’ and 'Rural’ spending targets.
A topic in focus was the EU CAP Network's Annual Work Programme (AWP) 2026-2027. Representatives of the Network's support units (on Implementation, Innovation, Evaluation, and Communication) presented an outline of proposed topics related to the three general objectives of the CAP as well as cross-cutting activities and common themes. This was followed by a discussion on the process of finalising and validating the AWP, where steering group members play a key role.
Like all governance meetings, this event was also an invaluable opportunity for stakeholders to ask for clarifications from DG AGRI on specific aspects of the policy developments and to share their own activities, updates and suggestions with the Commission and with their peers. The report provides all the details as well as useful links.
