The 4th meeting of the EU CAP Network's Assembly took place the day after the ARIA 2025 ceremony, a landmark event highlighting the positive effects of the CAP implementation.
DG AGRI’s Director General, Elisabeth Werner, addressed the members of the Assembly in a video message where, among other points, she expressed appreciation for the EU CAP Network's role in establishing and maintaining a link between people and policy and contributing to more effective implementation through networking and knowledge exchange.
The first part of the meeting focused on policy updates to the CAP, including the state of play of CSP implementation and the Multi-annual Financial Framework (MFF) and CAP proposal 2028-2034. Following the presentations by DG AGRI representatives, a Q&A session allowed Assembly members to ask for clarifications on the proposed new CAP framework and receive further explanations.
Updates from the EU CAP Network's Steering Group and Subgroups were presented by members of these governance bodies, followed by updates from other Assembly members about their activities at the national level, as well as updates on EU CAP Network activities and other EU initiatives - including a special update on the EU CAP Network’s strategic framework.
In the afternoon, members engaged in an interactive session on strategic orientations for future networking activities by the EU CAP Network through parallel working groups, building on proposals from the Steering Group. Key clusters of activities emerging from the discussion included sustainable productive approaches; rural development, generational renewal, community networking, and LEADER; advancing innovation through digitalisation, skills development, advisory excellence, and knowledge exchange; and simplification, monitoring, and evaluation.
At the end of the meeting, participants were informed of the dates of key upcoming events and were sincerely thanked for their contributions to the discussions.
