1 Practice Abstracts

Please briefly describe your project below (maximum 3 sentences).

The aim is to develop, in cooperation with stakeholders, an area-based approach for the preservation of the globally unique cultural historical landscape of the Upper Countries and the Westeinderplassen, addressing the linkages between recreation, nature and ornamental cultivation.

There are three sub-objectives in the project:

a. Making cutting and migration breeding future-proof through innovative measures to promote biodiversity.

b. Establish an area plan for the preservation of the archipelagic structure.

c. Developing a plan to preserve the ecological value in the Upper Countries and to establish ecological connections between the green elements in this area and the surroundings of the Westeinderscheg.

Beschrijf hieronder kort uw project (maximaal 3 zinnen).

Het doel is om in samenwerking met belanghebbenden een gebiedsgerichte aanpak te ontwikkelen voor het behoud van het wereldwijd unieke cultuurhistorische landschap van de Bovenlanden en de Westeinderplassen, met aandacht voor de samenhang tussen recreatie, natuur en sierteelt.

Er zijn drie subdoelen in het project:

a. De snij- en trekheesterteelt toekomstbestendig maken door middel van innovatieve maatregelen ter bevordering van de biodiversiteit.

b. Een gebiedsplan opstellen voor het behoud van de eilandenstructuur.

c. Het ontwikkelen van een plan om de ecologische waarde in de Bovenlanden te behouden en ecologische verbindingen te realiseren tussen de groene elementen in dit gebied en de omgeving van de Westeinderscheg.
