Remote monitoring of behavior and parameters indicative of animal health status
There is a great expectation on the part of farmers to have remote animal health and welfare monitoring systems available. Remote recording of behavior has made it possible to identify different behavioral patterns for healthy and sick animals. However, algorithms that identify problem animals require further verification work to achieve a system that can be applied on a large scale. The remote temperature detection system with thermal imaging camera has been shown to be reliable if the collected data is corrected considering the ambient temperature. At this stage, it is still complex to make a judgment on its ability to predict the health status of the animal, as the case history collected in the test box was insufficient to make robust statistical computations.
Controllo da remoto del comportamento e dei parametri indicativi dello stato di salute degli animali
C’è una grande aspettativa da parte degli allevatori di avere a disposizione sistemi di controllo della salute e del benessere degli animali da remoto. La registrazione del comportamento da remoto ha consentito di individuare dei pattern comportamentali differenti per animali sani e malati. Tuttavia gli algoritmi che individuano i capi con problemi richiedono un ulteriore lavoro di verifica per ottenere un sistema applicabile su larga scala. Il sistema di rilevazione della temperatura da remoto con termocamera si è dimostrato affidabile se il dato raccolto viene corretto considerando la temperatura ambientale. In questa fase è ancora complesso dare un giudizio sulla sua capacità di predizione dello stato di salute dell’animale, in quanto la casistica rilevata nel box di prova è stata insufficiente per effettuare elaborazioni statistiche robuste.
