R5. Effect of insecticide treatments on Leptoglossus occidentalis. An insecticide treatment protocol was designed and applied using Deltamethrin at 2.5% W/V, with the aim of evaluating its effectiveness in controlling the American stink bug (Leptoglossus occidentalis) in Pinus pinea plantations. The results show that two strategically scheduled applications of Deltamethrin at 2.5% W/V are highly effective in controlling this pest. In addition, the persistence of insecticide residue in needles and pine nuts was evaluated, both in treated areas and in adjacent untreated areas, to determine possible drifts during application. In no case were residues detected that exceeded the permitted legal limits. The main advantage of this phytosanitary product lies in its low cost. Although its use in private plantations has proven to be practical and does not generate major inconveniences after its authorization, application in natural forests presents greater challenges due to the specific conditions of these ecosystems and possible regulatory or operational complications.

R5. Efecto de los tratamientos insecticidas sobre Leptoglossus occidentalis. Se diseñó y aplicó un protocolo de tratamiento insecticida utilizando Deltametrina al 2,5% P/V, con el objetivo de evaluar su eficacia en el control de la chinche americana (Leptoglossus occidentalis) en plantaciones de Pinus pinea. Los resultados muestran que dos aplicaciones estratégicamente programadas de Deltametrina al 2,5% P/V son altamente efectivas para controlar esta plaga. Además, se evaluó la persistencia del residuo del insecticida en acículas y piñones, tanto en áreas tratadas como en zonas adyacentes no tratadas, para determinar posibles derivas durante la aplicación. En ningún caso se detectaron residuos que excedieran los límites legales permitidos. La principal ventaja de este producto fitosanitario radica en su bajo costo. Aunque su uso en plantaciones privadas ha demostrado ser práctico y no genera mayores inconvenientes tras su autorización, la aplicación en bosques naturales presenta mayores desafíos debido a las condiciones específicas de estos ecosistemas y a posibles complicaciones regulatorias o operativas.
