Kennisvoedsel
The Knowledge Food project aims to promote sustainable local food chains within the province of Noord-Holland. The aim is to further develop the short chain by facilitating and optimising logistical and commercial processes for agricultural entrepreneurs so that they can offer their products directly to consumers and business customers. As a result, the project contributes to circular and regenerative agriculture, with sustainability, climate adaptation and the well-being of both humans and animals at its core.
This initiative is closely linked to the objectives of the Provincial Programme for Rural Areas (PPLG) and the Noord Holland Food Vision 2020-2030, which focus on sustainability and the strengthening of regional food supply. In particular, the project aims to achieve the following strategic objectives:
1. Creating a future-proof income model for farmers by exploiting the short chain.
2. Optimising regional food supply, with an ambition to produce 203 025 % of food consumption regionally by 2020.
3. Strengthening the short chain through a digital platform for logistics, marketing and knowledge-sharing.
The challenges the project addresses include logistical constraints, variation in supply and demand, and the need for knowledge sharing. Innovations such as the Lokalist platform and Veluwen’s Eric concepts help farmers to operate more efficiently and make their products more attractive.
The cooperation partners, including Lokalist, MVO Nederland, UvA/HoA Facility Services, Gebroeders Ham, Food Verbindt and Eric van Veluwen, each play an essential role.
Het project Kennisvoedsel richt zich op het bevorderen van duurzame, lokale voedselketens binnen de provincie Noord-Holland. Het doel is om de korte keten verder uit te bouwen door de logistieke en commerciële processen voor agrarische ondernemers te vergemakkelijken en te optimaliseren, zodat zij hun producten direct aan consumenten en zakelijke afnemers kunnen aanbieden. Hierdoor draagt het project bij aan een circulaire en regeneratieve landbouw, waarin duurzaamheid, klimaatadaptatie en het welzijn van zowel mens als dier centraal staan.
Dit initiatief sluit nauw aan bij de doelstellingen van het Provinciaal Programma Landelijk Gebied (PPLG) en de Voedselvisie 2020-2030 van Noord-Holland, waarin verduurzaming en de versterking van de regionale voedselvoorziening centraal staan. In het bijzonder beoogt het project de volgende strategische doelen te realiseren:
1. Creëren van een toekomstbestendig verdienmodel voor boeren door de korte keten te benutten.
2. Optimalisatie van de regionale voedselvoorziening, met een ambitie om in 2030 25% van de voedselconsumptie regionaal te produceren.
3. Versterking van de korte keten door een digitaal platform voor logistiek, marketing en kennisdeling.
De uitdagingen die het project aanpakt, omvatten logistieke beperkingen, variatie in vraag en aanbod, en de noodzaak van kennisdeling. Innovaties zoals het platform van Lokalist en de concepten van Eric van Veluwen helpen boeren efficiënter te opereren en hun producten aantrekkelijker te maken.
De samenwerkingspartners, waaronder Lokalist, MVO Nederland, UvA/HvA Facility Services, Gebroeders Ham, Voedsel Verbindt en Eric van Veluwen, spelen elk een essentiële rol.
