Field activities at experimental sites for the collection of biomass and Product processing and collection of waste from the production chain
The general objective of this activity is the enhancement, from the environmental and economic point of view, of the residues of the uses of the mountain forest areas and of the plain tree belts, as well as of the by-products of the wood-energy chain.
Support has been provided through experimental investigations to the exploitation of waste or residues that are difficult to place on the market or disposal difficulties, but which, due to their chemical-physical properties, can be used as a fertiliser/soil improver. In particular, it has contributed to an investigation on the qualification of residual biomass from the use of mountain forest areas both in ordinary conditions and from forests damaged by abiotic and biotic disturbances and plain forest areas with the recovery of tree waste, poplar trees and tree vegetation cleaning in river areas.

L’obiettivo generale di questa attività è la valorizzazione, sotto il profilo ambientale ed economico, dei residui delle utilizzazioni delle aree forestali montane e delle fasce arboree di pianura, nonché dei sottoprodotti della filiera legno-energia.
Si è fornito supporto tramite indagini sperimentali alla valorizzazione degli scarti o residui di difficile collocazione sul mercato o difficoltà di smaltimento, ma che, per le loro proprietà chimico-fisiche, possono essere impiegati come prodotto fertilizzante/ammendante. In particolare si è contribuito ad un’attività di indagine sulla qualificazione della biomassa residuale proveniente dall’utilizzazione di aree forestali montane sia in condizioni ordinarie sia da boschi danneggiati da disturbi abiotici e biotici e aree forestali di pianura con il recupero di scarti provenienti da arboreti, pioppeti e ripuliture di vegetazione arborea in aree fluviali.
