The expected results of the project mainly refer to the implementation of "antibiotic-free" beef production and can be traced back to the following areas:
-economic and production-related advantages linked to the increase in profitability of farms and the diversification of production;
-benefits linked to the acquisition of new market shares. The benefits for the beef sector refer on the one hand to the very probable expansion of new types of meat linked to the non-use of antibiotics and on the other hand to the possibility of reaching high added value markets;
-benefits linked to positive social and employment effects. The benefits for the beef cattle sector refer to the growth of professionalism and qualification in the sector itself through an action, first of all, to raise awareness among all the operators in the sector on the issue of the use of antibiotics in livestock breeding and to improve the image of the sector itself towards public opinion and final consumers;
-benefits related to the improvement of environmental sustainability. The benefits for the beef cattle sector refer to the reduction in the use of drugs (antibiotics), which have a high impact on the environment, and to the improvement of animal welfare and biosecurity conditions on farms.
I risultati attesi del progetto fanno riferimento principalmente all’implementazione della produzione di carne di bovino “antibiotic-free” e possono essere ricondotti ai seguenti ambiti:
-vantaggi di tipo economico e produttivo legati all’aumento della redditività delle aziende e alla diversificazione delle produzioni
-vantaggi legati all’acquisizione di nuove quote di mercato. I benefici per il settore del bovino da carne fanno riferimento da un lato alla molto probabile espansione delle nuove tipologie di carne legate al non utilizzo di antibiotico e dall’altro alla possibilità di raggiungere mercati ad elevato valore aggiunto;
-vantaggi legati a ricadute positive nell’ambito sociale ed occupazionale. I benefici per il settore del bovino da carne fanno riferimento alla crescita di professionalità e qualificazione del settore medesimo attraverso una azione in primis di sensibilizzazione di tutti gli operatori della filiera nei confronti della tematica dell’utilizzo degli antibiotici nell’allevamento zootecnico e al miglioramento dell’immagine del settore stesso nei confronti dell’opinione pubblica e dei consumatori finali;
-vantaggi legati al miglioramento della sostenibilità ambientale. I benefici per il settore del bovino da carne fanno riferimento alla riduzione dell’utilizzo di farmaci (antibiotici), estremamente impattanti a livello ambientale e al miglioramento delle condizioni di benessere degli animali e di biosicurezza degli allevamenti.
