Die herkömmlichen Anbau-, Ernte- und Aufbereitungsverfahren für Nutzhanf ermöglichen es bisher nicht, Naturfasern zu produzieren, wie sie mit Blick auf Umfang und Qualität von der Industrie für Hochleistungsanwendungen im textilen und techtextilen Bereich nachgefragt werden. Ziel ist, hierfür ein Gesamtverfahren zu entwickeln.

Conventional cultivation, harvesting, and processing methods for industrial hemp have not yet made it possible to produce natural fibers that meet the industry's requirements and demands in terms of quantity and quality for high-performance applications in the textile and technical textile sectors. The aim is therefore to develop a comprehensive process based on cultivation, harvesting, and processing trials using current knowledge and existing or modified harvesting technology and subsequent processing technology, which will enable very high-quality and homogeneous hemp fiber qualities to be achieved.

It is already clear today how complex the cultivation and harvesting methods to be developed will be and that close cooperation along the production chain will be necessary. As part of the project, business and cooperation models are therefore to be developed that will secure the existence of all cooperation partners and enable the activities to be replicated in Saxony.
