El sector vacuno de carne supone una actividad ganadera que genera enorme riqueza en nuestro territorio desde un punto de vista económico, social o medioambiental. Sin embargo, debido a la globalización y la pérdida de poder adquisitivo de los hogares, en los últimos años ha acontecido una caída paulatina del consumo de carne de vacuno en España. Si los precios de las materias primas y la energía siguen su tendencia actual, es esperable que los costes de
producción aumenten, lo cual resultará en una producción de carne cada vez más cara y por ello menos asequible para el consumidor, por lo que, en caso de que el sector no reaccione implementando soluciones innovadoras, es esperable que la tendencia a la disminución en el consumo de carne bovina en nuestro país se vea agravada, con el consecuente abandono de la actividad de un mayor número de productores de bovino de carne al no poder obtener rentabilidad en sus producciones. Ante esta situación, resulta fundamental diseñar estrategias que garanticen la viabilidad del sector bovino de carne en Andalucía, mejorando las relaciones internas de los eslabones de la cadena agroalimentaria y buscando una unidad de acción a la hora de facilitar la eficiencia del sector para garantizar un buen futuro de las producciones en los mercados. Las razas Angus o Limousine se caracterizan por su gran rendimiento cárnico y son consideradas como dos de las mejores carnes del mundo por su textura suave, sabor y terneza. Los ganaderos de bovino de aptitud cárnica ven en la transferencia de embriones una oportunidad para dar respuesta a la gran demanda de esta carne por parte del consumidor.
