1 Practice Abstracts

‘In pig farming and within Keten Duurzaam Varkensvlees (KDV), methods have been developed to calculate the pig’s CO2 footprint. Together with De Hoeve Certification, there is more than 25 years of experience in the guaranteed and certified processing of data provided by pig farmers. Increasingly digital, including through joining data. Mostly manual, however, as not all parties are yet ready for the switch. The SFD provides businesses with data, guidance and a perspective for action. For example, in the area of animal health and mineral use. Also in the field of CO2 footprint, there is a desire to support entrepreneurs with data, understanding of data and perspective of action. "It is therefore important to link the data leading to the CO2 footprint back to the entrepreneurs in an understandable way, allowing decisions to be taken on possible (management) adjustments. The aim of the project is to develop a PigFootPrint app that can help entrepreneurs with company-specific data. “The steps to be taken are:”

* Data collection

* Strengthening the calculation-based methodology

* Developing an app”

* Coordination with the pilot group and testing of results”

* Check if there is motivation to work with the data/app, identify blockages “”

* Roll-out to all pig farmers within SFD”

"In de varkenshouderij en binnen Keten Duurzaam Varkensvlees (KDV) zijn methoden ontwikkeld om de CO2 footprint van het varken te berekenen. Er is samen met De Hoeve Certificering meer dan 25 jaar ervaring met het geborgd en gecertificeerd verwerken van gegevens die de varkenshouders aanleveren. Steeds vaker digitaal, via onder andere join data. Grotendeels echter handmatig omdat nog niet alle partijen klaar zijn voor de overstap. Binnen KDV worden bedrijven op basis van de data, begeleid en wordt handelingsperspectief geboden. Bijvoorbeeld op het gebied van diergezondheid en mineralengebruik. Ook op het vlak van CO2 footprint is er de wens om de ondernemers te ondersteunen met data, inzicht in data en handelingsperspectief.¿Het is daarom van belang de data die leiden tot de CO2 footprint op een inzichtelijke manier terug te koppelen aan de ondernemers, waarbij beslissingen genomen kunnen worden over eventuele (management) aanpassingen. Het doel van het project is het ontwikkelen van een PigFootPrint-app die ondernemers daar met bedrijfseigen data mee kan helpen.¿¿ De stappen die hiervoor genomen moeten worden zijn:¿

* Oriëntatie op andere initiatieven¿

* Opzetten van een pilotgroep ondernemers¿

* Verzamelen van gegevens

* Aanscherping van de rekenmethode

* Ontwikkelen van een app¿

* Afstemming met de pilotgroep en testen van de resultaten¿

* Nagaan of er motivatie is om met de data / app te werken, blokkades inventariseren¿¿

* Cyclus van aanpassingen en testen¿

* Evaluatie moment van het resultaat¿

* Uitrol naar alle varkenshouders binnen KDV¿

* Aanscherping rekenmethode, afstemming met de varkenssector¿

* Evaluatiemoment van het resultaat¿
