Activities

Flevolandse growers Akkerroos Bio and van den Dries Bio V.O.F. are working in this EIP project with Trabotyx to develop precision farming robots for use in organic farming. Due, inter alia, to the shortage of seasonal workers and rising labour costs, following standard weed control, there is a need for an automated solution for the remaining weeds. The innovation in this project contributes to cost savings, environmental gains and the maintenance of Flevolan’s lead in organic farming.


Activities

Flevolandse telers Akkerroos Bio en van den Dries Bio V.O.F. werken in dit EIP-project samen met Trabotyx aan de ontwikkeling van precisielandbouw robots voor gebruik in de biologische landbouw. Vanwege onder andere het tekort aan seizoenarbeiders en de stijgende arbeidskosten is er, na de standaard onkruidbestrijding, behoefte aan een geautomatiseerde oplossing voor het resterende onkruid. De innovatie in dit project draagt bij aan kostenbesparing, milieuwinst en het behoud van Flevolands voorsprong in biologische teelt.

Contribution to policy objectives

This EIP proposal primarily contributes to the development of sustainable income models within agriculture, with the aim of ensuring a viable farm income for farmers.

Dissemination of knowledge

For the project, through product demonstrations, publications, workshops and collaborations with educational institutions, associations and knowledge platforms (such as Groen Kennisnet), the results will be widely shared with farmers, school pupils, technicians and other stakeholders.

Voor het project zullen door middel van demonstraties van het product, publicaties, workshops en samenwerkingen met onderwijsinstellingen, verenigingen en kennisplatforms (zoals Groen Kennisnet), de resultaten breed gedeeld worden met agrariërs, scholieren, technici en andere betrokkenen.

Aanleiding

Een van de grootste bedreigingen voor de gewasopbrengst is de aanwezigheid van onkruid tijdens de groeiperiode. Huidige onkruidbestrijdingsmethoden, zoals schoffelmachines, chemische bestrijdingsmiddelen en handarbeid, hebben diverse nadelen die zowel beperkend als kostenverhogend zijn.

Doel van het project

Het doel van dit EIP-project is om, door samenwerking tussen de biologische telers Van den Dries Bio V.O.F. en Akkerroos Bio en robotontwikkelaar Trabotyx, aan te tonen dat de wiedrobot nauwkeurig het onkruid kan verwijderen dat momenteel niet door moderne machines mechanisch kan worden aangepakt, en waarvoor nu dure seizoensarbeiders nodig zijn voor handmatige verwijdering.

In dit innovatieproject wordt voor het eerst een proefopstelling getest in het veld gedurende de wiedseizoenen van 2025 tot en met 2027, bestaande uit een multi-boorconfiguratie (met verschillende typen boor- en freeskoppen), gecombineerd met 120W blauwe laserbrandertechnologie. Deze unieke combinatie is bedoeld om verschillende soorten onkruid efficiënt en nauwkeurig te vernietigen. De opstelling zal in eerste instantie worden getest achter de tractoren van Akkerroos Bio en Van den Dries Bio V.O.F. en later worden geïnstalleerd op een elektrische werktuigdrager.

Resultaat

Het resultaat van dit project is een gevalideerd, duurzaam verdienmodel binnen de biologische landbouw op basis van de doorontwikkelde wiedrobot.
