1 Practice Abstracts

This project focuses on providing reliable alternatives to chemical-synthetic plant protection products and reducing the use of (art) fertilisers in Dutch agriculture by accelerating the use of compost extracts and composting tea. This is achieved by developing scalable manufacturing hubs where compost products are sold in a short chain, introducing AI technology for quality monitoring and organising field demonstrations and trainings. This will boost local production of high-quality compost, reduce costs and share knowledge, contributing to a sustainable transition to regenerative agriculture and more resilient farming systems.

Dit project richt zich op het bieden van betrouwbare alternatieven voor chemisch-synthetische gewasbeschermingsmiddelen en het verminderen van het gebruik van (kunst)meststoffen in de Nederlandse landbouw door de toepassing van compostextracten en compostthee te versnellen. Dit wordt gerealiseerd door het ontwikkelen van schaalbare productiehubs waar compostproducten worden afgezet in een korte keten, het introduceren van AI-technologie voor kwaliteitsmonitoring en het organiseren van veld demonstraties en trainingen. Hierdoor wordt de lokale productie van hoogwaardige compost gestimuleerd, kosten verlaagd en kennis gedeeld, wat bijdraagt aan een duurzame transitie naar regeneratieve landbouw en veerkrachtigere landbouwsystemen.
