Objectives
AgriAdapt aims to help farmers to adapt the management of their farms to the new conditions expected due to climate change trends, on their specific sites. Thus the project works on the design and implementation of adaptation measures at farm level, seeking to make farms more resilient to the new challenges posed by climate change, while also considering potential and complementary environmental benefits, such as ecosystem services. Furthermore the project includes actions to raise awareness amongst farmers and to share best practices. It covers the most important EU farming systems (livestock, arable land and permanent crops) and the four climatic regions (Atlantic, Continental, Southern and Nordic).

Activities
As part of these activities for raising awareness, AgriAdapt has designed a pack of materials for advisers, to support them in disseminating information on climate change trends to the farmers in their regions. The pack includes 9 power point presentations. Three of them provide a general background about the project (overview and methodology) and a basic explanation on climate change in the context of the European agriculture. In the next 4 presentations the focus narrows down, addressing the specifics for each climatic region, explaining the main threats for each sector but also the opportunities that may appear due to the change of the climatic conditions (e.g longer growing season in the Nordic countries). Finally - to be updated at the end of the project- the two last presentations advance some preliminary measures and potential environmental synergies. In order to help advisers to adjust the material to the needs, the project provides a short, medium and long version of the pack and additional support documents.
