1 Practice Abstracts

clean Noord-Nederland (cLEAN-NN) aims to demonstrate the emission reduction and contribution to the business model of a new concept of precision farming for soil-related proactive cultivation decisions in which ecology and economics can both be optimised, both theoretically and in 2 years of field trials at 6 sites.

Cultivation is economically and ecologically optimised per ares (100 m²) on the basis of reliable and detailed satellite soil maps and scientific response curves validated with ground samples, and the results are then converted into tails using existing technology (for both high-tech machines and less advanced mechanisation).

The innovations that are combined are (1) detailed and reliable satellite soil maps of multiple soil parameters validated with a new way of soil sampling, (2) scientific response curves for the impact of those soil parameters on both crop yield and on nitrate leakage and soil carbon storage, and (3) pricing (valuation) of these impacts.

cLEAN Noord-Nederland (afgekort cLEAN-NN) wil zowel theoretisch als in 2 jarige veldproeven op 6 locaties aantonen wat de emissiereductie is en wat de bijdrage aan het verdienmodel is van een nieuw concept van precisielandbouw voor bodem-gerelateerde proactieve teeltbeslissingen waarin ecologie en economie beiden geoptimaliseerd kunnen worden.

De teelt wordt economische en ecologisch geoptimaliseerd per are (100 m2) op basis van met grondmonsters gevalideerde betrouwbare en gedetailleerde satelliet bodemkaarten en wetenschappelijke responsecurves, waarna de uitkomsten met bestaande technologie omgezet wordt in taakkaarten (zowel voor high-tech machines als minder geavanceerde mechanisatie).

De innovaties die gecombineerd worden zijn (1) gedetailleerde en betrouwbare satelliet bodemkaarten van meerdere bodemparameters gevalideerd met een nieuwe manier van bodembemonstering, (2) wetenschappelijke responsecurves voor het effect van die bodemparameters op zowel gewasopbrengst als op nitraatlekkage en bodemkoolstofopslag als (3) de beprijzing (waardering) van deze effecten.
