1 Practice Abstracts

“Within the project, we want to work on a set of measures that can be used in a complementary or alternative way to minimise the risks of insect damage to crops so that the earning capacity of arable farming is sufficiently guaranteed.


The aim of the project is to provide as complete an overview as possible of the cultivation strategies to be followed in order to reduce the two main crop risks caused by insect damage to potato cultivation in the Netherlands without the use of chemical plant protection products. These include, on the one hand, cultivation strategies to control the colorado beetle and, on the other hand, cultivation strategies to control aphids and the associated transmission of viruses.’

"Binnen het project willen we werken aan een set van maatregelen die complementair of als vervangend alternatief kunnen worden gebruikt om de teeltrisico’s van schade-insecten zo laag mogelijk te houden zodat de verdiencapaciteit van de akkerbouw voldoende gewaarborgd blijft.


Het doel van het project is om tot een zo volledig mogelijk overzicht te komen van de te volgen teeltstrategieën om de twee belangrijkste teeltrisico’s veroorzaakt door schade-insecten voor de aardappelteelt in Nederland te beperken zonder de inzet van chemische gewasbeschermingsmiddelen. Het gaat daarbij enerzijds om de teeltstrategieën ter beheersing van de coloradokever en anderzijds om teeltstrategieën ter beheersing van de bladluizen en de daarmee gepaarde overdracht van virussen."
