Join the discussion on the Future of Animal Husbandry at the IAHA Conference 2026
The IFOAM Animal Husbandry Alliance (IAHA) is excited to announce the IAHA 2026 Conference, set to take place from 28 to 30 April 2026 at FiBL Switzerland in Frick. The conference will bring together experts, practitioners, and advocates from around the world to discuss the future of sustainable livestock production.
For organic movements, a unified voice to contribute its perspective to the global debate on animal husbandry is needed. In the Animal Husbandry Alliance conference of IFOAM – Organics International, themed “Organic animal husbandry: a role model for the future of livestock?”, the plan is to meet, to advance bold declarations on positions, and to draft roadmaps for the sustainable future of global animal husbandry.
If you are interested in adding your perspective, you are invited to submit your contribution to the IAHA 2026 conference. Submissions on a variety of themes related to organic animal husbandry are welcomed, including but not limited to:
- Animal husbandry and animal products – how much is “enough”?
- Animal husbandry: a driver of cultural and ethical development?
- What is the value and role of animals in my context?
- Global food security and animal husbandry: complementary or antagonistic?
- Principles vs practice: How do I implement organic principles on my farm?
- Towards organic breeding programmes
- Agroforestry and crop-animal-integration
- One health as a key element of organic animal husbandry
- Ecology, climate change and animal welfare: How do we manage trade-offs?
