This was the second meeting of the Thematic Group on Just Transition in the Agri-Food System: the Role of the CAP.
In the second meeting of the Thematic Group on Just Transition in the Agri-Food System: the Role of the CAP, we looked at how to secure the necessary transition of agri-food systems in the long-term, examining how to persuade governments and other stakeholders to take action, the governance mechanisms and processes to support this and the role of policy to support just transition, with a particular focus on the CAP.
Aims of the meeting
- Agree on what is required to enable a scaling up of existing good practice examples that align climate and environmental objectives with social and economic realities.
- Identify the role of policy (particularly the CAP) and the governance structures and processes required to support a Just Transition of the agri-food system.
- Identify the practical steps required to secure a Just Transition that achieves long-term, meaningful change and draft recommendations
