This was the first meeting of the 1st meeting of the Thematic Group on Just Transition in the Agri-Food System: the Role of the CAP.

In the first meeting of the Thematic Group (TG) on Just Transition in the Agri-Food System: the Role of the CAP, we looked at look at Member States’ experiences in designing and implementing CAP interventions that support a Just Transition. We explored the factors that may contribute to successful outcomes, as well as the challenges that need to be overcome.

Aims of the meeting

  • Share good practice examples of successful approaches to achieve a Just Transition in the agri-food system.
  • Identify current barriers in aligning climate and environmental objectives with social and economic realities and actions needed to overcome these to drive meaningful change.
  • Explore the main areas of interest for further in-depth discussion.
